Crafting is done through various Workstations across the island and allows you to create over 400 items.
The very basic Crafting Menu can be found in your Inventory Screen, by pressing tab, which you can select on the top bar next to Inventory.
On the right you will see everything you can craft, including other Workstations.
The Items required to craft something will automatically get used from the "Nearby", which allows you to drop Items and still craft with them.
